The Pinacoteca of Siena is a museum of invaluable worth that houses the most complete collection of Sienese gold-ground paintings from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. This collection was initially gathered at the end of the eighteenth century thanks to the passion of local scholars, the abbots Ciaccheri and De Angelis, who sought to preserve Siena's artistic heritage from dispersion. Over the following century, the collection further enriched through significant donations.

The museum, opened to the public in 1932, is housed in the Buonsignori and Brigidi palaces. Inside, a chronological path guides the visitor through the history of Sienese painting, allowing them to admire the works of its major protagonists.

The Pinacoteca is located in the heart of Siena's historic center, just a few steps from the Duomo and Piazza del Campo. The museum is easily accessible with a short walk from the Piazza Gramsci bus station and the main parking lots. For those arriving by car, there are specific directions to reach the museum, depending on whether you are coming from the north or south. Finally, for those arriving by train, the route from the station to the Pinacoteca offers a panoramic view of Siena's main monuments.
