The restaurant Osteria le Logge was born from the passion for enogastronomy that indissolubly united Gianni Brunelli and his life partner, Laura. In 1977, the two decided to invest all their energy in opening this restaurant just a stone's throw from Piazza del Campo. Right from the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Piazza, Via del Porrione leads to the vicinity of the Logge del Papa, where the restaurant is located at the corner between the medieval street and the Renaissance-flavored square.
The Ambiance
The welcoming ambiance, with a subtly nostalgic flavor, where the osteria still resides today, was for years the location of the Barblan & Riacci grocery store. Gianni chose not to change much, harmoniously blending the traditional atmosphere of the shop with his innovative concept of author's gastronomy, tied to an ongoing search for quality, taste, and sustainability.
Meeting Place for Intellectuals, Politicians, Artists, Gastronomes
From the start, a reference point for fine cuisine and a cosmopolitan atmosphere where intellectuals, politicians, artists, gastronomes, and everyday visitors gathered, the Osteria still embodies the very concept of a "meeting place." Here, in a formula of gastronomic democracy, each guest can engage in the restaurant's life, enveloped in the familiarity conveyed by the venue itself.
Gianni always said: "Eating is important, eating well is essential"
This explains his concept of an osteria focused on customer care, seasonally linked products, and a constant search for new content to develop. This philosophy still guides the restaurant, which over the years has become a benchmark for Tuscan gourmet cuisine; we like to sum it up in the words of Gianni's fellow citizens: "If you come to Siena, eat at Brunelli's."
The Staff
At the helm of the gourmet restaurant today is a professional and dynamic team led by restaurant manager Mirco Vigni, maître d' Agostino La Sorte, and executive chef Nico Atrigna. We can often find Laura's presence, compatible with her new life and work commitments. Laura manages one of the best vineyards in Montalcino and produces some of the finest wines, following and realizing Gianni's idea and passion.
Philosophy
The idea behind Osteria le Logge is all in the name – osteria – which is both the inspiration and contradiction of the restaurant project. From the osteria, the most genuine and pure values are recovered with the awareness that today's world has changed, tastes have evolved, and cuisine has become an emotional journey. Thus, the osteria today nods to gourmet dining and signature dishes.
An immediate cuisine, a clean menu starting from the dish names, linked to a daily relationship with selected producers, to authentic raw materials anchored to nature's seasonality, a culinary elaboration attentive to taste extraction, to offer guests a stimulating and fulfilling moment that leads back to quality time and the tradition of sitting at the table.
