The beginning of July marks the much-anticipated Palio of the Madonna of Provenzano, an event that blends faith, history, and competition. Below is the complete schedule for those who wish to participate in this extraordinary event.

June 29 - Selection and Assignment of Horses:
  • 7:00 AM: Start of the "tratta", where horses are selected to participate in the Palio.
  • 9:00 AM: Draw and assignment of horses to the districts.

June 29 - July 1 - Trials:
  • Every evening, at 7:45 PM, trials are held in Piazza del Campo to allow the jockeys to familiarize themselves with the horses and the course.

July 1 - General Trial and General Trial Dinner:
  • 7:45 PM: The General Trial takes place on the evening of July 1st.
  • 8:30 PM: The districts organize the "General Trial Dinner", a moment of celebration and positive tension.

July 2 - Final Trial:
  • 9:00 AM: The Final Trial takes place, the last opportunity for the jockeys to practice on the course.
