1550 Historic Residence is a place of the heart, a dive into the past for contemporary travelers. An ideal abode for those who love to experience Siena, it is located in the historic center of Siena, a world-renowned jewel city known for its artistic treasures and ancient traditions. The residence has been beautifully restored within Palazzo Pannilini, a noble building constructed at the end of the Renaissance in the year 1550 (from which the Residence takes its name). The palace is elegantly nestled in one of the city's oldest streets, Casato di Sopra.
In the Center, Among Siena's Most Authentic Neighborhoods
The Boutique Residence, as we love to call it, is situated in one of the city's most authentic neighborhoods. Its quaint trattorias and artisan shops offer visitors the genuine feeling of returning to the slower rhythms of the past. Within a short walk, you can reach Siena's most enchanting spots. Descending from Via del Casato, you'll find yourself facing the stunning Piazza del Campo. Heading in the opposite direction, you'll reach the Cathedral and the museum complex of Santa Maria della Scala. For music enthusiasts, the Chigiana Music Academy, an excellent historical institution of Siena, is just a stone's throw away. For those seeking a tranquil oasis, beyond the Arch of S. Agostino, an ancient city gate and heart of the Contrada della Tartuca, lies the ancient Orto dei Semplici, now the University Botanical Garden, and the Gardens of Tolomei surrounded by olive trees.
